Do you have a shop or showroom?
We do. You can find our showroom at Ackerstraße 23 in 10115 Berlin
Our openings hours are:
Monday - Friday from 10:00 - 18:00
Saturdays from 11:00 - 17:00
We are also available for individual appointments. Please let us know in advance and we are happy to welcome you to our showroom.
We currently do not have any additional showrooms yet.
However, we happily consult you online or over the phone - a video call is also a nice option to define the perfect light option.

How can I customise a Polyluma light?
Due to our unique production process our lamps can be customized to perfectly match your interior concept and style.
We offer the following customisation options:
- Choice of lampshade material (white, natural)
- 10 different lampshade design
- Amount and size of lampshade (200 mm, 300 mm)
- Colour of cables and canopy
- Length of cables
Our configuration tool on our website will help you through the process; we are also happy to help you personally.
How long is the delivery time?
Quality and precision is our highest priority and we do our best to work fast and not to compromise. As we produce and assemble every lamp made to order, we have an average delivery time from approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
If you have an urgent order, you can get in touch with us and we can see what we can do.
What material are the shades made of?
For our lampshades we use an especially developed Biopolymer. The material is enriched with natural raw resources including corn starch, minerals and other natural materials. The blending of these natural ingredients create our material options - white and natural.
Our WHITE is a soft matte white with the look and feel of chalk.
Our NATURAL is a warm bright beige with a natural organic look.
The material is extremely light and yet robust. It has a somewhat rough surface which creates a very beautiful and unique look and feel.
All material options are highly translucent and offer a harmonic glow that lights up the entire room. The choice of light source allows you to influence the mood and intensity of the light, regardless of the material.
What size are the lampshades?
Our Sphéra collection offers two different sizes for our lampshades: 200 mm and 300 mm.
You can configure your Polyluma lamp with either sizes of lampshades or mix both sizes for one lamp. You can design your custom lamp using our online lamp configurator on our website.
For example, a Sphéra Random 5 can be configured with two 300 mm lampshades and three 200 mm lampshades - it will look amazing.
Can we order samples of the material the lampshades are made of?
Yes, you can. We are happy to send you a Sample Box that helps you choose the right material for your Polyluma lights.
The Sample Box includes samples of the white and natural material, our wooden hub including our magnetic system to attach the shades.
When you decide to order your Polyluma lamp, we will credit the full cost of the Sample Box when you place an order with us. Click here to get your Sample Box.
Can I choose the cable length / length of the complete light?
Yes, you can. You can use our lamp customizer to also select the best fitting length of cables for your lamp. We provide standard length cables and you can mount your lamp at any height. You decide the position of your lamp.
Cables can be ordered in 2, 3 or 5 meter lengths. The cable length refers to the individual cable, measured from the canopy to the shade. For example, if you order a lamp in a Random 3 configuration with 2 meter cable, you will receive three 2 meter cables.
Our cables are textile-coated and can be shortened to the desired length very easily. All you have to do is order them long enough, so they can be customized during installation of the lamp.
Do you need longer cables? We can supply longer cable lengths upon request.
Are there cable colours other than black or white?
Yes, there is a wide range of cable colours available, upon request for a small extra charge.
Do you have advice on how to shorten cables?
Using the fixing screws, all cables can be individually adjusted to the desired length.
Protruding cables can be laid in a circle in the ceiling canopy - this means the cable can be easily extended for later use.
When shortening the cables, it is advisable to wrap a thin adhesive tape (Scotch tape) around the place where you make the cut - this prevents the textile sheath from fraying. Expose the brown and blue cables by carefully removing the white sheath. Finally, you have to expose about 5 mm of the two cable ends. There are so-called cable insulators for this; this tool makes the task easier.
Make sure that the insulation of the wires outside the lamp terminal is really intact.
Note: We would like to point out that a professional electrician should shorten the cables.
How heavy is a Polyluma lamp?
Our lamps are very light due to the material and the detailed and delicate workmanship.
A Polyluma Sphéra Mono weighs approx. 350 grams (shade, cable, socket, canopy). The closed canopy weighs approx. 550 grams, so that a Sphéra Random 3 lamp weighs approx. 1500 gr and a Sphéra Random 5 lamp approx. 2100 gr.
Can a Polyluma lamp be used in the bathroom?
Polyluma lamps do not have an official IP-certification. They can be used in the bathroom, but not in the area of the bathtub or shower.
How do you clean the lampshades?
You can easily clean the lampshades under warm running water. Due to the innovative magnetic system you can easily attach and detach the lampshade for cleaning.
Can I hang a Polyluma light where there is no power outlet?
Yes, you can. If the power outlet is in a different spot than the desired position of the light, we gladly provide a suitable extension cable. Upon request, we can add a side hole to the lamp’s canopy for the cable to pass through. Additionally, we can also provide a smaller canopy for the power outlet.
Does a light with several lampshades also need a corresponding number of power outlets?
No, it does not. For every Polyluma lamp we will send you the respective power distributor. You only need one electricity outlet to connect a light - it's very simple.
How bright is a Polyluma lamp?
The lampshades are highly translucent and therefore the brightness and warmth of the light can be controlled by choosing the light source. Polyluma lights also work above the dining table, to illuminate an entire room or to create atmospheric coziness.
Which light bulbs can be used?
We use a standard E27 socket for our lamps. It offers maximum flexibility in the choice of light sources: Any E27 LED bulb (4-13 watts) can be used, including dimmable bulbs.
Our recommendation: 2700k for the material white and nature.
Please note, light bulbs are not included in the delivery.
What's the diameter of the canopy?
The diameter of the canopy depends on the respective lamp. Through our customization tool on our website we provide the best fitting canopy for your configuration.
Upon request we can provide larger sizes of canopies as well as different shapes. Please contact us directly for your needs.
What is the difference between an open and closed canopy?
Closed Canopy - For all our lights, we offer a closed canopy with a hole pattern that allows the lights to hang directly downward. The size of the canopy increases depending on the number of shades.
Open Canopy - For some lights, we offer an open canopy as an alternative. This version has a smaller diameter (120 mm). Additional ceiling hooks (included in the package) are required to hang the lights at the appropriate distance so that the cables do not touch the lampshades. The placement of the ceiling hooks is completely flexible.
Can the canopy be installed on a sloping ceiling?
Yes, it can. Depending on the angle of the ceiling, a different diameter of the canopy may be required.
The following lights and their standard canopy work for the mentioned degree:
- Sphéra Mono or Cluster with 80 mm or 120 mm canopy: always works
- Sphéra Random 2 with 300 mm canopy: always works
- Sphéra Random 3 with 300 mm canopy: up to 40 degrees
- Sphéra Random 5 with 300 mm canopy: up to 45 degrees
- Sphéra Random 7 with 300 mm canopy: up to 28 degrees
- Sphéra Random 5 Mix with 450 mm canopy: up to 45 degrees
- Sphéra Random 7 Mix with 450 mm canopy: up to 20 degrees
What can I do when the degree is much higher than listed?
For a higher degree the distance between the cables will be too small. However, we can offer the following two alternatives:
- a) We provide a canopy with a larger diameter which allows a steeper pitch of the roof.
- b) We supply you with an "open canopy" free of charge. This is available as an option with the Sphéra Random 2 or 3. It will allow the individual cables to be mounted flexibly on the ceiling.
For special installations, we are available for consultation and we will work with you to find the best solution together.
TIP - If you do not know the level of your angle of your ceiling, you can measure it with a free iPhone App called Tape Measure.
How to install the canopy?
The installation is pretty standard and simple. Each order comes with a metal rail that requires two screws and wall plugs to be fixed to the ceiling. Please note, screws are not included in the order as different ceilings require different screws. We recommend installing the canopy first and then to attach the shade(s) to minimize the risk of dropping a shade.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, we do. Please contact us with the value you wish to purchase and we can create the gift voucher for you. If you like, you can add a custom message as well.
Can I return the lamp after delivery?
Your lamp is made-to-order with your preferences, but you have the right to return the lamp within 30 days after delivery.. Upon return, we will refund the full purchase price. The lamp needs to be returned in an undamaged condition.

Please note, Sample Boxes and custom-made items are excluded from the return policy and cannot be refunded.
On request, we can send our customers from Germany a return label, free of charge. Unfortunately, return costs from abroad are borne by the customer - thank you for your understanding.
Do you sell replacement shades, in case of damage?
Our shades are durable and do not break easily. However, if you ever need to replace a broken shade - no problem, we sell single shades to existing customers.
You can order here and select the shade you want to re-order - we will ship the new shade without waiting time.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship across Europe partnering with DHL.
The shipping cost depend on the country of delivery and the volume of the order - here an overview:
What is the procedure to ship to Switzerland or the UK?
Shipping to countries that are not in the European Union is not cost-free, the price depends on the respective order volume.
We provide the custom papers - however, local custom fees have to be paid by the buyer. If we receive a written proof that the national tax has been paid, we can reimburse the German Tax afterwards.
Can you take custom orders, for example lights with more than seven shades?
As a true manufactory, we are pretty flexible and happy to discuss custom orders. Just get in touch with us.
